GREETER
Greets visitors at the Center’s front desk, collects admission, gives helpful information, answers phone, promotes center’s memberships, informs visitors about our special events..
DISCOVERY GUIDE
Roams throughout the Center, inside and out. Guides guests to exhibits and displays, answers questions about our natural resources, especially manatees, offers to show videos.
ROVING NATURALIST
Is stationed outside along the covered walkway. Greets visitors and educates guests about the outdoor displays, the Center itself, looks for manatees & records sightings. Encourages visitors to go inside the Center to view aquariums and life-size manatee display.
EDUCATION ASSISTANT
Assists Education Coordinator with school groups, gives group tours of Center, assists with off-site classes and festivals, assists with developing displays.
VANISHING MERMAID GIFT SHOP SALES ASSISTANT
Greet and assist customers in the Gift Shop. Conduct sales transactions. May be asked to assist with merchandise tagging and inventory.
ASSIST WITH GRANT WRITING
Researches the Internet, library, & other sources to locate grants suitable for our needs. Assists with grant development and follow-up.
SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR
Assists with contacting participants, organizing events, sending invitations, introduces speakers, helps at festival booths.
CLERICAL ASSISTANT
Assists with various office duties including answering phones, filing, computer work, making phone calls.
DESIGNER/HANDYPERSON
Assists with exhibit development, creation, & installation. Carpentry & Painting skills helpful.
MAINTENANCE/GROUNDSKEEPING
Assists groundskeeping crew with maintenance, sweeping, raking, picking up litter, and removing unwanted plants. Also may assist with construction and repairs. Projects may include minor plumbing repairs, carpentry, or painting.
SPEAKER/ LECTURER
Is part of the Center's Speaker's Bureau speaking at community association meetings about the Manatee Center.
MARKETING/PUBLICITY ASSISTANT
Assists in developing ideas and events to fund Center projects. Assist with press releases and producing marketing materials.

Sunday 12-4

July-Sept Thursday-Saturday 10-5

Shifts are as follows:

Tuesday 10 - 1:30 or 1:30 - 5
Wednesday 10 - 1:30 or 1:30 - 5
Thursday 10 - 1:30 or 1:30 - 5
Friday 10 - 1:30 or 1:30 - 5
Saturday 10 - 1:30 or 1:30 - 5
Sunday 12:00 - 4:00 (1 shift)

Please list 1st, 2nd, & 3rd choice for days and times you are available, as some shifts may be unavailable.
