INSIDE THE CENTER
See over 60 live marine animals in our aquariums, which depict ocean and coral reef habitat, sand flat habitat, or predators.Take a virtual tour of the Indian River Lagoon to learn more about its fascinating history and the animals that call it home.
Our electrical display will light up as you press buttons to find out how power is generated. Participate in a hands-on display to learn how animals have adapted to the habitats that they live in. Try, as a sea turtle does, to bury its eggs or use a White ibis beak to probe the mudflat for food. See what happens to the web of life when a critical piece is removed.
Also featured inside the Center are: a life-size mural by local artist Greg Kuklinski depicting an underwater view of manatee habitat typical to the Indian River Lagoon, and a 30 foot three-dimensional display of native fish demonstrating the connection between an estuarian habitat and open ocean habitat. Anglers will enjoy seeing " the one that got away."
