Ken Gioeli, UF/IFAS Natural Resources Extension Agent for St Lucie County, specializes in wildlife management and environmental education. Ken works with residents to teach them about the threatened and endangered sea turtle species nesting on St Lucie County’s beaches. He also helps beachfront residents learn how to comply with reduced lighting requirements during sea turtle nesting season (March 1 – November 15).

Our volunteers are busy! The manatees are here almost every day and there are visitors galore. There’s something for everyone at the Manatee Center whether you enjoy being inside or out, office work or gardening. Being a people person is a must!
